1. Introduction
Hive ("we", "our", or "the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension designed for internal use by recruitment consultants at our organization. The extension extracts publicly available LinkedIn profile information and sends it to our proprietary Hive recruitment system for candidate management, interview scheduling, and communication workflows.
2. Who This Extension Is For
Internal Use Only: Hive is designed for use by authorized recruitment consultants within our organization. Users must authenticate with their Hive system credentials to use the extension.
Not for Public Distribution: While the source code may be publicly available, the extension requires access to our internal Hive recruitment system and is not intended for use by external parties.
3. Data We Collect
3.1 LinkedIn Profile Data
When you click the "Harvest" button, Hive extracts the following information from the LinkedIn profile currently displayed in your browser:
- Personal Information: Full name, headline, location
- Professional Information: Current position, company, work experience (titles, companies, dates, descriptions)
- Education: Schools attended, degrees obtained, years of study
- Contact Information: Email address and phone number (when available in the LinkedIn contact info section)
- Profile Photo: Profile picture URL and image data
- Profile URL: The LinkedIn profile URL you're currently viewing
3.2 Authentication Data
- Hive System Credentials: Login credentials for authenticating with our internal Hive recruitment system
- Access Tokens: Session tokens stored locally in your browser for maintaining authenticated sessions
4. How We Use Your Data
4.1 Recruitment Workflow
When you click "Send to Hive", the harvested profile data is transmitted to our internal Hive recruitment system where it is:
- Stored as a candidate record in our recruitment database
- Made available to authorized recruitment consultants
- Used for recruitment activities including:
- Candidate evaluation and screening
- Interview scheduling and coordination
- Email communication with candidates
- Matching candidates with job opportunities
- Maintaining recruitment pipeline and history
4.2 Local Processing
All data extraction happens entirely within your browser before being transmitted to our Hive system. The extension:

Hive stores the following locally in your browser only:

This data is stored using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API and is cleared when you log out or uninstall the extension.
5.2 Hive Recruitment System Storage
Candidate data sent via "Send to Hive" is stored in our internal recruitment database according to:
- Our organization's data retention policies
- Applicable employment and recruitment regulations
- Data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, PDPA, etc.)
Data Retention: Candidate records are retained for the duration necessary for recruitment purposes and as required by law. Contact your HR department or data protection officer for specific retention periods.

- All data extraction happens in your browser's isolated extension context
- Data is transmitted to our Hive system via HTTPS encryption

7. Access Control and Permissions

7.2 Your Access Rights (as a Consultant)
- You can view and edit candidate records you've created

8. User Rights and Controls
8.1 For Consultants Using the Extension
Data Review Before Sending:
- You can review all harvested data in the extension UI before sending it
- You can edit any fields (name, email, phone, experience, education)
- You can choose not to send data by closing the extension without clicking "Send to Hive"
Clear Data:
- Click the "Clear" button to remove all data from the extension form
- Log out to clear authentication tokens
- Uninstall the extension to remove all locally stored settings
8.2 For Candidates (Individuals Whose Data Is Collected)
Access and Correction:
- Candidates may request to access their data stored in our recruitment system
- Candidates may request corrections to inaccurate information

LinkedIn may impose rate limits or restrict accounts that excessively scrape profiles. We recommend:
- Using Hive responsibly (avoid bulk scraping)
- Respecting LinkedIn's terms of service
- Implementing appropriate delays between harvests (max 8 profiles/hour, 35/day recommended)
9.3 Legitimate Interest
We collect LinkedIn profile data based on our legitimate interest in recruitment activities. This is balanced against the rights and freedoms of candidates, and we process only data necessary for recruitment purposes.
10. International Data Transfers
Data Location: Our Hive recruitment system is hosted in Singapore. If you are using the extension from a different jurisdiction:
